This image was photographed with a #5 Roundshot panoramic camera with a 65mm Grandagon lens, on five inch film. The camera was mounted on a dolly that slid on a track some 20 feet up the roof tower. The track hung out beyond the tower off one corner of the triangular

structure and also off the opposite base. The first exposure was 300 degrees off the corner, and the second was 180 degrees off the base. The two "pieces" were joined in Photoshop. Yes, that really was the original sky and sky coloration, as determined by contact prints from the negatives
